PUMPKIN HOUSE

Door


1. Path tool, Custom shapes 3D, any color for now 80x150 px.
Center Horizontally, move it down into place, and apply the Door grey preset.

2. Duplicate, and hide one of these doors for now. Change the visible door into a Selection in the Mode choice box above. Select the top orange oval and hit Delete once.
Move the selection down to cover the bottom of the pumpkin and delete that area like so.


Select the lines and hit your Delete key once.
Select the shadow, and use the Eraser to erase the whole inside of the door.
Chage to the pick tool or the Path tool and move the selection back up to the top of the cut out section. In the Mode choice box change it back to 3D Round to get your door back. Save.

3. Path tool - Get the Arch 2 (like the windows) from the Custom shapes and draw one 35x45 px, resize it if you have to. Place over the door near the top and Center horizontally.
Change this piece into a Selection in the Mode choice box above, Convert the door from a path to an image, and with the door selected Delete once.
In the Mode choice box change it to a 3D Pipe. Oh gee, look what you did!!! :) Open the panel and set the Border to 1, and the Depth to 30. Now ya' got it! :)

4. With the Line tool, make a line top to bottom for this little window, and another horizontally like you did for the black windows.
Center the vertical line, put the horizontal like just above center in the window and group. Drag and drop it below the door object.

5. Click on the top orange object or the front of your house, and cick on the Paint brush. Use settings 50-0-100 and this color #AC4C11. Paint around the door to make it look inset using the edge of the brush like shown below. Try and make the shading even around the door. I clicked a lot moving the bruse a little each time further up and around the door.

6. Switch to the Blur brush, 40-5-50 and go around the edge of the shading to blend in.


Shape House


1. Change to the Selection tool, Rectangle, Fixed size of 300x50. Click your background near the bottom of your pumpkin house and use your arrow keys to move into place like the diagram below shows.

2. Select the bottom orange oval. Rclick and Convert from path to an image.
Hit your Delete key once.
Select your top orange oval, and hit your Delete key.
Select your lines, and hit your Delete key.
Select your shadow, change to the Eraser and erase the shadow.
Rclick, select None. You should now have this shape.

3. Choose the Eraser, 10-0-1 and erase the corners beside the bottom of the door on each side.
Click on the shadow object and erase that part on each side.


Door Frame


7. Unhide and select the door you hid earlier. Use my black preset on the door.
Resize to 88x156 and Rclick center horizontally. Drag and drop it below your real silver door.
Line it up with the bottom of your real door if you need to.
Duplicate the black larger door, and change it to a selection.
Rclick, Shrink by 5 px. Use your arrow key to move the selection down 2 px so it looks like this.

8. Select your black door, Convert from path to image, and hit your Delete key once. Rclick choose None.

  

9. Select your silver door, window frame, and cross bars and move them up almost centered in this black frame. Save.


Door Handle


Path tool, oval, 3D Pipe. Make a very small oval and slide it onto the door.
Open the Material Attribute Gallery, Metallic, and double click on Steel 2. If it shows a very light color, open the material box and turn the lights down to 1, and apply.
Resize it so that it is 17x21 px.
Rclick Convert, and erase the right side of your oval like so.


Stem and Leaves


1. Deselect all. Path tool, 3D Round, Spline, any color for now. Draw a top part that will look like a stem for your pumpkin. You may choose to make it look chimney like or what ever design you like. Edit your stem till you have it like you want it.

  


Convert the stem from path to image. Change to the Dodge tool and bleach out the top of the stem like it's been cut.

2. Path tool, Custom Shape, find the leaf shape you like and draw a few leaves on the stem of various sizes and placements. Use my leaf green preset on your leaves or any other green color or preset you like.
Delete center guide line.


Stone Path


1. Path tool, Spline draw a roundish path for the front of the doorway. Make it so it fits the curves you cut out of the front of the house. Edit path till you like it. Use one of my two stone path presets for your path.

Click on the Stamp tool, find the grass stamp. Set it for 50% and make some grass for your scene. Your basic house is finished.
